In celebration of Record Store Day ‘10, we had a bunch of bands and DJs come party with us including Cymbals Eat Guitars, Black Wine, Budos Band, Andrew WK, and more. It was a ton of fun and we can’t wait for next year. Thank you again to everyone who came out that day and to everyone who has continued to shop here at the store throughout the years.
Check out some photos of the performers and DJs after the jump.
Thanks to everyone that made Record Store Day a huge success at the store. This year was the biggest one yet. Also, thanks to Budos Band, Black Wine, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Andrew W.K., Sohrab from Obits, the DC’s crew and everyone else that helped out during the day with the in-store.

On April 16th, 2010, Lee Altomare passed away due to complications from eye surgery. This truly is a tragic loss of one of the nicest guys I know; a standup guy always known for a laugh and a good time. If you didn’t know Lee personally, you definitely have seen him at any show worth being at over the years.
Every few weeks, Lee would stroll into Generation and we would talk for hours about music and any other things of interest. Lee would constantly school me in new bands I didn’t know about and new bands I should check out. I am very grateful to have become friends with Lee over the past few years, and I’ll treasure all those memories. I will miss him coming in and just straight up busting my balls about anything and everything. There is not much more I can say except that Lee was truly an amazing and funny dude, and always a good time. He will be truly missed. Rest in peace, my friend.
